Visiting the GUM clinic – confidentiality assured November 10, 2009

If, like my friend Fiona (not her real name), you always fall for the wrong guys, you’ll probably have paid a visit to your local GUM clinic. Fiona’s love life is a bit like a disaster movie, and for her friends it’s heart-breaking to see her getting hurt over and over again. She’s had several really unfortunate relationships and the result has been not one, but two visits to a sexual health clinic (this sort of place).
She was dreading going to the GUM (explanation here) clinic, but fortunately the staff there were totally professional and non-judgemental, and everything was dealt with in the strictest confidence. She was given treatment for her STI immediately, everything got cleared up, and we’re all hoping she meets Mister Right next time.
