Watching those poor people in Cockermouth bailing out their homes had me digging out my paperwork and checking my property owners insurance policy.
It really affected me how helpless those people in Cumbria looked and must have felt. I mean where do you start after that level of destruction in your own home?
Rooms are ruined, belongings destroyed and even when you get all the debris out, the problem of fully drying the building out remains.
That’s why I’m glad that I’m backed by a sound insurance policy, at least then you only have to work about the clean up operation and not how to pay for it.
They needn’t cost the earth either, with reasonably affordable policies available online.
